In skilled hands, the mechanical (or tracing) arm of the pantograph engraving machine accurately follows the contours of a template or master while the cutter on the engraving arm transcribes the design onto the material’s surface at a predetermined scale.
A pantograph engraving machine can be used on brass, steel, copper, plastics and wood and is ideal for logos and intricate designs particularly where a prototype or short run with the design scaled up or down is required.
Pantographs can also be used for printed circuit board milling. They precisely carve out circuit traces and patterns on copper-clad sheets in readiness for the addition of the electrical components.
At Ashbee Engraving, the top engravers can use the pantograph machines to engrave on shaped materials such as the wing of a car or a cylinder.
In combination with computerised engraving machines and laser technology exceptional results can be achieved across a wide range of projects.
